It is cultivated in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Iran.

Varieties of dates are cultivated in Iran, but few of them are commercially important and are exported to other countries. One of the dates exported from Iran is Piarom, a large, black-brown, thin skin date that is considered the most delicious of all semi-dry varieties.
