Allium stipitatum or Persian shallot that is called “Mooseer” in Persian is native and endemic of Iran. It mostly grows as a wild plant across the Zagross Mountains. In traditional Iranian medicine, Persian shallot is recommended for the treatment of rheumatic and inflammatory disorders, gout, arthritis, diarrhea, stomach pain, psoriasis and hemorrhoid.
